I grew up knowing about Jesus. I was raised in a loving, faith-filled home, surrounded by church and scripture. But somewhere in my teenage years, I realized that knowing about Jesus and truly knowing Him were two very different things. The Bible felt vast and daunting, and I often closed it feeling more lost than found. That quiet longing to close the distance between head knowledge and heart knowledge never left me, and what I didn't know was that God was writing my story and giving me purpose — one loss, one question, and one verse at a time.

When my father was 54, he was diagnosed with stage 4 glioblastoma, and he had a golf ball sized cancer in the middle of his brain. The tumor was inoperable, and my father passed away at the age of 55. My father was an amazing Christian role model, who actively served our church, volunteered in our local community, and loved his wife and children very much. I am thankful for the short 20 years that I had with him, and I'm positive that his daily practices helped to plant the seeds of my desire to know Christ personally.

After my dad passed away, I found myself crying in church during any and all sermons. I met with my minister, Reverend David Michael, and he asked me an important question — what was I feeling when I was crying? My first reaction was to say sadness and grief, however as I thought more deeply about the question, I realized that I felt immense and overwhelming love. I was not alone and God was with me during my great sorrow.

In the years that followed, I went through several Christian programs, including Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren and Financial Peace University by Dave Ramsey. I also built my corporate career with a focus on Servant Leadership. My husband and I were intentional about raising our boys in Bible-based churches, and we were blessed by several wonderful congregations in the Piedmont area of North Carolina. These churches and programs deepened my relationship with Christ, educated me, fed my soul, and helped bridge my heart knowledge with my newly found head knowledge. It also confirmed for me that Jesus Christ is the Truth, the Way, and the Life.

In 2019 or so, I was introduced to the Through the Word Bible app, and their mission is to equip the world to read the Bible, understand it, apply it, and make it a habit…together. It took me about 5 years to go through their content of both the Old and New Testaments, and it truly was exactly what I was looking for since my teenage years. From there, I discovered Father Mike Schmitz's The Bible in a Year podcast, and most recently, I'm working through The Bible Recap with Tara Leigh Cobble and The Bible Recap Deep Dive podcast with Emma Dotter and Kirsten McCloskey. Each time I go through these journeys with the Bible, my knowledge deepens and sermons come alive because I finally have the context and understanding that I've been thirsting for since my younger years.

As I got closer to God's word, I started to pray that I wanted to be where God needs me to be to fulfill His plan. I am naturally a Type A control freak, and I can create big, bold and beautiful project plans — however it is such a relief to know that it's not my plan, it's not my timing, and God is always in control. There are several examples in the Bible of what happens when people start making decisions on their own (think Abraham & Sarah), and there are also examples of when people trusted God's plan and were patient (think David). All of this continues to shape me and to prepare me for opportunities to be His Hands & Feet.

In 2022, I focused on Proverbs 3:5–6:

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your understanding. In everything, acknowledge Him and He will guide your paths."

Proverbs 3:5–6

After proudly being a part of a strong Wells Fargo project team, I moved to a relatively new Digital team in a product role. After almost three years on the new team, I was displaced from Wells Fargo in February 2025 after serving the company for 21 years. On one hand, that was quite a shock to my identity and it took me almost a year to fully grieve the loss of my career. However on the other hand as it's always said, God opened several new doors for me.

After my displacement, I focused on Psalm 23:1–4:

"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake. Yes, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for He is with me; thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me."

Psalm 23:1–4

This Bible verse brought me great peace, and it was a large part of my healing process. I prayed regularly that in my next role, I wanted to work alongside Christians where we could share our "God stories," and God answered those prayers. In April 2025, I was brought on to MuniBilling as a Senior IT Project Manager on a 6-month contract. By October 2025, they brought me on full-time as the Strategic Innovation Program Manager, and in January 2026, I became the Senior Manager of Product Management. As many people know, it is a difficult time to be an employee in 2026, and I was displaced in May 2026…and once again, I had a choice — to fear or to trust.

Honestly, I could have taken these displacements personally. And yet, God placed Psalm 46:10 on my heart:

"Be still, and know that I am God."

Psalm 46:10

In reading this verse in my Bible, I've made notes when God used this scripture in the past when it felt like the world had the potential to crumble all around me. Thankfully, God is good to His promise to never leave or forsake me, and in 2025, I created WeStart Together LLC.

Creating WeStart Together was itself a step in faith, and in March 2023, I completed Dave Ramsey's Financial Coach Master Training. I could officially say that I am a Financial Coach; however working full time, being a wife, raising two kids, being a homeowner and all the other hats that a person can wear, I had very little time to dedicate to this glimmer in my eye. In April 2023, I became an Independent Travel Agent, and in the past few years, I'm proud of the vacations and travels that I've been blessed to support for many clients. When I joined MuniBilling as a contractor, I decided to formally organize my WeStart concept, and WeStart Together LLC was founded in 2025.

Given my history, experience, and the Grace of God, WeStart Together is well equipped to fully realize its mission "to empower visionaries and growth-minded individuals to dream boldly, believe in what's possible, and do the work that turns their biggest goals into their greatest achievements — together." I am looking forward to boldly sharing how God has equipped me to support His plan, and I'd love to walk alongside you to bring your dreams to life too.

I believe with all of my heart that He's not finished yet — with me, or with you.
